HUBUNGAN ANTARA PEMBERIAN ASI EKSKLUSIF DENGAN PERTUMBUHAN BERAT BADAN BAYI PADA USIA 0-6 BULAN

Abstract

Pertumbuhan berat badan bayi pada usia 0–6 bulan menjadi indikator penting dalam menilai kecukupan nutrisi dan status kesehatan anak di awal kehidupan. Air Susu Ibu (ASI) eksklusif direkomendasikan oleh WHO sebagai sumber gizi utama selama enam bulan pertama karena kandungan nutrisinya yang lengkap dan perlindungan imunologis yang diberikannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pemberian ASI eksklusif dengan pertumbuhan berat badan bayi usia 0–6 bulan di Posyandu Desa Danau Usung. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain analitik korelasional dengan pendekatan cross-sectional dan melibatkan 50 bayi sebagai sampel yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan pengukuran berat badan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa dari 30 bayi yang mendapat ASI eksklusif, sebanyak 93,3% memiliki berat badan normal. Sebaliknya, dari 20 bayi yang tidak diberi ASI eksklusif, hanya 75% yang memiliki berat badan normal. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan nilai p = 0,013 (p < 0,05), yang mengindikasikan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara pemberian ASI eksklusif dan pertumbuhan berat badan bayi. Hasil ini menguatkan pentingnya ASI eksklusif sebagai faktor utama dalam mendukung pertumbuhan bayi secara optimal.
